July Challenge - #6 Your Favourite Colours

Hello! Happy July to you :) If you are celebrating Independence Day, hope you have a wonderful day :)
Thank you so much for joining us last month for our challenge "Something for Summery or with Flowers". We had a phenomenal response and as usual found it so hard to choose a top three! With great deliberation we choose -
1st - #76 Norma
2nd - #67 Dots Dabbles
3rd -  #54 Julie P

Thanks again to all who played along with Craft for the Craic, and congratulations to our Top 3!
Please take the badge from the side to display it on your blog!

For July, the theme is an easy one! Your Favourite Colours :)

Our challenges are open to ANYTHING crafty or arty - cardmaking, scrapbooking, altered art, crochet, knitting, sewing, cake decorating, painting, drawing, candle making, jewellery making, whatever makes you craft or be creative we would like to see it!

This month we are showcasing some of our DT entries today, and then mid-month we will show some more! So be sure to pop back mid month for the other DT projects.

Purple and pink are my favourite colours.
This is a Canvas as a gift for my husband :)
I have used mists to make the 4 different colours, gesso, chipboard shapes and flowers.
Check out Henryka's blog for more close ups.

For this month challenge- I have made my first attempt at mixed media and I used my favourite colours- purple and pink. Also I used Prima All Star papers, cheesecloth, paints, acrylic paint, gears, chipboard, brads, flowers, stamps, washi tape, embossing with white and clear powder and rhinestones.

I had fun with inks, embossing paste, stencils, stamps, die cuts and lots of blues!

Eithne
Normally my favourite colour is purple, but this summer the neutral colours are appealing more to me!

So that's our Design Team's beautiful inspiration :)

To see more photos and details on each of the projects, just visit our blogs! Why not give the challenge a go?

We would love for you to join in our challenge, remember anything that encourages, motivates or promotes your creativity, if it has your favourite colours, we would LOVE to see it ;) Our challenges start the first Friday of the month, and end the last day of the month (so this month's deadline is Thursday 31st July)

We are pretty easy going about rules, but if you'd like, read this page.

Thanks for popping by, don't forget to come back mid month for more inspiration!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Crafting,
Michelle & Eithne :)

Craft for the Craic Design Team

Happy Thursday to you! Thank you so much for all the fantastically, beautiful projects. We were all blown away by the talent, and by everyone's taking part in a bit of 'crafting for the craic'! ;) Our 2nd challenge will go live tomorrow (first Friday of the month), so please check back to see what the next months challenge is and, of course, who got top 3 in our February/Hearts challenge.

Before our next challenge starts, Michelle and I would like to introduce ourselves and our wonderful design team -

Eithne

Hi, my name is Eithne. I stay at home minding my two little girls, having previously worked in graphic design and print. I live in county Kildare. I love colours and paper, which merges over into card making, making albums and other paper items, scrapbooking, photography, crochet, knitting and baking. I blog over at Card Room Delights.
I created this challenge blog, as I thought it would be great to showcase all different crafts and art projects at all different level of skills on the one blog. Michelle and I are running the challenge blog, and we are so delighted to have so many other wonderful crafters on board. :)

Emily
Mother of five – soon to be six – I am an artist, homeopath, and blogger and live in the midlands. I home-educate my children (for my sins), and survive on a diet mainly composed of strong tea and home baking that’s made to placate the hungry hordes.
In my ‘spare time’ (ha! most creative endeavours are done with at least one child ‘helping’) I paint, make Waldorf dolls and art dolls, crochet and sew.
I blog at The Nest, and, when I inveigles my children away from the computer, waste far too much time on Facebook and Pinterest.

Katya
Hi, I am Katya. I am a recruiter by day and a cardmaker by night.
I am originally from the north-east of Russia and I have been living in Ireland for about 13 years. I have been crafting for just over two and half years. My overall crafting style is quiet feminine- I love using flowers, lace and pearls.
I also like to use stamping techniques and heat embossing. I can’t imagine crafting without my Cuttlebug and sewing machine. I am big into using recycled materials as well as non scrapbooking bits and pieces that I find.

Geraldine
Hi, I’ve been papercrafting for about 5 years now and still addicted! I love browsing other people’s blogs, I find them so inspiring and crafty people are so generous with their ideas.
I don’t think I have one particular style of crafting, I happily switch from distressing everything to Clean and Simple. I love making cards but also enjoy the occasional mini album, and sometimes do a little sewing or crochet.
I’m looking forward to visiting all your blogs and seeing what you create each month. Ger x

Pixie (Margaret)
Pixie here saying hello to you all. My name is Margaret.
I can’t even remember a time when I wasn’t drawing, painting, sticking, glittering and generally creating a mess. I hope my skills have developed since those early happy childhood times spent at the kitchen table in my parents home.
I’ve tried my hand at all sorts of things- knitting, embroidery, patchwork, cross-stitch, latchhook rugs and cushions - but I just keep coming back to paper crafting. I would probably describe my style as simple, I love embellishments but try not to distract too much from the main image. I blog over at http://pixieflutterbycreates.blogspot.ie would love if you had time to hop over and say hi.

Sylvie
Irish Scrapper Hi this is Sylvie Sims. I have been dabbling with crafts for most of my life and find it a great way to relax and unwind after a long day. I wholeheartedly believe everyone has the ability to create and very little investment is needed to get started, just an open mind and some encouragement.
I love to look around for items to recycle, When you create something from nothing it gives a great sense of satisfaction.
I love the idea of mixed media crafting and as another passion of mine is photography I often incorporate my photos into my creations, but it doesn’t stop there, if you like painting, calligraphy, poetry writing or sculpture all can be combine to create a masterpiece: your imagination is your only limitation. You can follow me on youtube.

Well that's all of us here at Craft for the Craic. Why not pop back tomorrow and check out our new challenge? For more updates, make sure to find us on FACEBOOK!

See you on Friday for a new challenge!! :)

Happy crafting,
Eithne & Michelle
